Sometimes you have to interrupt your trip because of illness, death, or other unplanned reasons. Whether you are ending your trip early or starting your trip late, Trip Interruption can help reimburse non-refundable trip payments and deposits that were prepaid.

Examples of Covered Reasons*
Covered reasons are outlined by your plan and decide what can be covered. Remember, exclusions outlined in your plan can affect covered reasons. For example, skydiving is excluded from TravelSafe plans. If you require medical trip interruption as a result of skydiving, you may not receive coverage from this benefit.

What is trip interruption?
For covered reasons outlined in your plan, you may need to interrupt your trip. Additional transportation costs can be reimbursed if such expenses are incurred for you to join your trip if you must depart after your scheduled departure date or travel via alternate travel arrangements by the most direct route possible to reach your trip destination. Additional transportation cost can also reimburse expenses incurred to rejoin your trip or transport you to your originally scheduled return destination, if you must interrupt your trip after departure, each by the most direct route possible.
If someone in my family is seriously ill or dies, will I be covered under the Trip Interruption benefit?
You can be reimbursed up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown to transport you to your originally scheduled return destination if a covered Family Member’s death or illness prevents your continued participation on your trip.
